Madasgar’s Penguins are back!
Ok, so maybe I’m getting in the Christmas mood or something, but I just have to share this. If you happen not to have seen Madagascar the movie, nor it’s sequel, then here’s a quick one-line introduction: in both of them, there’s a small commando-like four penguin team, that plays a secondary—but quite amusing—role in both movies. Now this amusingness has been passed into its own small movie. Enjoy!
Part I
Part II
Boot from LiveCD …
… with encrypted partions. After installing Kubuntu with a nice encrypted LVM setup, here’s how to boot from a LiveCD, and mounting those encrypted partitions. This was a real treat!
The funny thing is that the most part is for dealing with LVM. If you have a “normal” encrypted partition, then mounting it from a LiveCD amounts to this (first do ’sudo bash’ to get a root shell):
# aptitude install cryptsetup
# modprob dm-crypt
# cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda2 mount_point_name
Enter LUKS passphrase:
key slot 0 unlocked.
Command successful.
Above, ‘mount_point_name’ can be any name, it does not have to be a directory.
Tcharam!
Remember Scrat?
If you’re like me, you probably do, although certainly not by that name. Well, from Wikipedia, Scrat is an acorn-obsessed saber-toothed squirrel, that looks like this:
I’ll bet now you remember!
What you might not know, is that besides the two Ice Age movies (third one being made; trailer here, again starring—you’ve guessed it—Scrat), there are also two small films, where this little squirrel is the sole and only protagonist: Gone Nutty, and No time for Nuts. And what funny films they are! Thanks to Youtube, they can now be enjoyed in a computer near you
(or blog, of course!)
Gone Nutty
No time for Nuts
Enjoy!
